Desperate Suspect Crashes into Occupied Tents and Hides in Dumpster to Evade Police

Seattle, Washington — On May 5, 2024, at around 5:40 a.m., Seattle Police were near Sixth Avenue South and South Snoqualmie Street, when they saw the stolen vehicle with the suspect in the driver’s seat sleeping. Terminator devices were deployed and as officers tried to conduct a traffic stop, the suspect tried to get away causing three of the tires to flatten. The suspect drove onto a grassy area hitting some occupied tents and two people who were lying inside. Other people jumped out of the way to avoid getting hurt. The 30-year-old driver continued to speed away from police until the stolen vehicle would no longer drive.

Then, the suspect tried to hide in a dumpster, covering himself with drywall. A K-9 track led officers directly to the suspect. He was arrested. During the investigation, a gun was recovered along the path the stolen vehicle traveled. The suspect is lawfully prohibited from having a firearm. The vehicle was towed from the scene and other items involved were taken to be processed as evidence. The two people who were hit were treated on-scene by the Seattle Fire Department for injuries. The suspect was booked in the King County Jail for vehicular assault, unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of a stolen vehicle.

  2. I normally defend female officers, but this one what the hell?!? She could have blocked him but her slooow driving let this get out, then when she is reporting him jumping fences the other officer can park his cruiser and get to the guard rail the same moment as her… jeez

  3. Of course the female has the perfect opportunity to trap him and instead of driving forward (or even just letting go of the brakes), she just literally lets him drive through like he has the right of way after he’s been ramming into cars for the past minute…

  4. That was stupid of the cop to climb back down from the dumpster and they couldn’t see his hands for a moment. Should have atleast jumped in there and patted him down. Geez after all that running from police and endangering others they treated him like he was getting kicked off the property for dumpster diving.

  5. The kinds of states/cities that blur criminals faces are the kinds of places that encourage this kind of behavior.
