Senate set to vote on border, foreign aid bill: Watch live

The Senate is expected to vote Wednesday afternoon on two versions of the security funding package announced Sunday.

One bill — which will expected to fail — includes provisions for border security and additional foreign aid for Israel and Ukraine, among others. Although immigration policy is one of the top concerns for Republicans, the specific border security measures in the bill have been criticized by many in the party.

Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) plans to then introduce a second variation on the bill without funding for the border, according to an aide. Schumer is reportedly confident this version will gain enough Republican votes to pass.

Floor proceedings are set to begin at noon, with the first vote slated to take place around 1 p.m. EST.
